Our take
The King of Kings is a PG faith-based animated film in which Charles Dickens tells his son the life of Jesus. It includes crucifixion, flogging heard off screen, demonic possession, a stoning threat, and pig demons jumping off a cliff. No profanity, but scary sequences may upset younger children despite the family target. Best for ages 8+ with parent context for biblical violence

Talk after watching
- The story follows Jesus' teachings and sacrifice. What messages about compassion stand out to you?
- Scary scenes use fantasy framing with a child listener present. How does that change how frightening they feel?
- Faith stories differ in how much violence they show. How do you talk about hard Bible passages with kids?
