Our take

Love Hurts is a Netflix action romantic comedy about a realtor pulled back into his criminal past. Expect bloody fistfights, gun violence, car chases, very frequent f-word dialogue, kissing, and comic banter between ex-partners. The tone mixes Valentine's Day rom-com beats with brutal action. Best for mature teens only

Uplifting themes

Second chances and loyalty appear, though crime dominates Leads show wit and care, but solve problems with violence

Talk after watching

  • The leads share a dangerous past but still care. Can people change after harmful choices?
  • Rom-coms sometimes treat crime as quirky backstory. How do movies blur real consequences?
  • Action stunts look easy on screen. Why should kids never try fight or driving tricks at home?
