It Ends

Movie 2026 89 min MA 15+ Horror, Mystery
AMU 16+ * Quality ★★★★☆

Our take

It Ends is a micro-budget psychological horror from writer-director Alexander Ullom about four college graduates trapped in a Jeep on a highway that never ends. Rated R for pervasive language, with brief non-graphic violence, a mob attack early on and a clawed arm with minor blood. The real intensity is existential: depression, isolation, and the urge to give up. No sex or gore; horror comes from suspense and emotional dread rather than jump-scare gore. Mature teens who handle conceptual Twilight Zone-style horror will find more to discuss than younger viewers

Uplifting themes

Perseverance and helping others emerge amid bleak existential circumstances Friends support each other under pressure though none are idealized heroes

Story (may spoil tone)

A group of recent grads head out on a late night drive for grub, hoping to enjoy one final hangout before their paths diverge. Instead, they accidentally turn onto a never-ending, two-lane hellscape surrounded by untold horrors and cosmic forces beyond their understanding. Cramped together inside a Jeep Cherokee and with the miles stretching infinitely ahead, they face a choice: embrace their new existence or fight to escape it.

Talk after watching

  • The friends cannot stop for more than 90 seconds without being attacked. What does that say about feeling stuck in life?
  • The film skips food, sleep, and bathroom needs. Why keep focus on emotions instead of survival logistics?
  • One character chooses to keep driving when others quit. What does perseverance mean when the road may lead nowhere?
