Is God Is

Movie 2026 100 min Not Rated Drama, Thriller
AMU 16+ * Quality ★★★☆☆

Our take

Is God Is adapts Aleshea Harris's play about twin sisters Anaia and Racine sent to kill the father who burned their mother. It is rated R for strong bloody violence and language. Subtitles are packed with f-word dialogue, gun and murder planning, domestic-abuse backstory, and a wine-trip reference. Expect stylized combat, burn scars, and a dark revenge tone, not for younger teens

Uplifting themes

Protecting the vulnerable is raised but revenge overwhelms uplift Sister loyalty is strong yet tied to planned murder

Talk after watching

  • The sisters debate how to kill their father. Can revenge ever heal trauma?
  • Their mother calls herself God and orders the hit. How does family loyalty blur morality?
  • Burn scars shape how others see the twins. What would you want someone to understand about visible injuries?
