Rosebush Pruning is an adults-only dark comedy about wealthy American siblings rotting in a Spanish villa. Irish censors flag strong violence, sexual and coercive violence, explicit sex, nudity, drugs, and language. Reviewers describe incest, murder, and psychosexual cruelty played for shock. The dialogue is graphic throughout, including crude sexual insults and references to killing a parent. Only for mature viewers who already seek transgressive arthouse satire
Story (may spoil tone)
In a Spanish villa, American siblings Jack, Ed, Anna and Robert wallow in isolation and their inherited fortune. When Jack wants to move in with his girlfriend and Ed uncovers the truth about their mother’s death, the fabric of the family begins to unravel.
