Our take

Red One is a PG-13 holiday action comedy about rescuing kidnapped Santa from a globe-trotting villain. Expect comic-book fights, magical creatures, kidnapping stakes, and regular hell, s-word, and a-word banter. The tone is festive and exaggerated rather than realistic. Fine for tweens and teens who enjoy loud family action, though very young kids may find the abduction plot tense
